Accessibility
We want everyone in Burnley and Padiham to be able to use this site.
Last updated: June 2026
Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 to level AA. We want the site to work well for people who use screen readers, keyboards, or who need larger text or reduced motion.
What we have done
- Used clear, semantic headings and structure so the site is easy to navigate.
- Made the whole site usable with a keyboard, with visible focus outlines.
- Chosen text colours that meet AA contrast against their backgrounds.
- Provided a skip-to-content link and labelled form fields.
- Respected the "reduce motion" setting for anyone who prefers fewer animations.
- Built the site to work on phones, tablets and desktops.
Known limitations
- Some councillor profiles do not yet have a photograph.
- Links to council websites and the national Reform UK site open pages we do not control.
